A note to my readers:

I was suggested to try and keep a blog, or atleast blurbs about my progress and process for this project. While blogging is not my strongest suit. I will try my best.

As the final step in graduating I wanted to make sure I would be creating a capstone that could be something I could proudly call my own. A project that I learned from along the way, but also a project that could help others along the way. I have jotted down some notes and I am now trying to put those blurbs down for others to read. Eventually my partner Sam Wood and I will be able to put it in a document that will be placed on here of how we have dealt with making a 'pilot' episode.

Why 'The Heroes of Tomorrow?'

The Heroes of Tomorrow was a small idea I came up with when I had been watching myy Grandmother, whom had just broken her hip. I knew I would be graduating in the year to come, and I just had not settled on one idea just yet. I could have done a simple animatic, or animation, but I didn't feel it proved much. I wanted something that could help others who may not have had the fortune to go to school learn, what I had. And will learn, what I am still learning now. I decided a minute trailer, created by a team of wonderful creatives would be my start. And I have not regretted it.

Tip:

Save up a sum of money before you even consider starting. But also make sure to plan out as much as you can and take on all the boring jobs first, before you dive into the 'fun' stuff. Otherwise you will lose your way.

Learn to Network:

  1. Try multiple social medias, like Twitter and search for talent.

  2. Find their email / contact information

  3. Send a formal message inquiring their rates and availability

  4. Negotiate payment, or at least make them aware that you are payying for it out of pocket so there might be delays.

  5. Decide whether they are a fit or not.
